Distinguished Special Lecture by Mr. Shaheen Majeed (D. Litt) at the University of Mysore
We are proud to share that Mr. Shaheen Majeed (D. Litt), Global CEO & MD, Sabinsa, was invited to deliver a Special Lecture, on ‘Herbs, Chemistry, and Global Health: The Molecules Behind the Movement,’ at the University of Mysore, Department of Studies in Chemistry, on 18 February 2026.
Addressing M.Sc. postgraduate students, research scholars, and faculty members, Mr. Majeed presented the scientific journey of medicinal plants — from traditional wisdom to globally validated, chemistry-driven solutions.
He emphasized that the evolution of an herb into a trusted nutraceutical ingredient is ultimately the evolution of its molecular identity — shaped through:
- Advanced molecular characterization
- Robust analytical validation
- Clinical substantiation
- Responsible global commercialization
In his words:
“Universities are where curiosity is sharpened into rigor, and where the next generation of scientists learns that chemistry is not just a subject, but the central science connecting biology, pharmacology, and medicine.”
The session reinforced the importance of bridging traditional knowledge with modern healthcare frameworks — ensuring innovation remains science-backed, ethical, and globally relevant. We thank the University of Mysore for this honour and for fostering meaningful academic-industry dialogue that drives the future of nutraceutical and botanical sciences.
